York, PA -May 20, 2015 - DENTSPLY International Inc. (NASDAQ - XRAY), a global leader in professional dental products, announced that DENTSPLY Board member and former senior executive, Leslie Jones, will retire from the company's Board of Directors at DENTSPLY's Annual Shareholder's Meeting today, Wednesday, May 20.

Jones, the Company's longest-standing Board member, will complete his service as a Director after 32 years on the Board of Directors of DENTSPLY International Inc., including serving as Chairman of the Board from 1996 to 1998.  Bret Wise, Chairman and CEO of DENTSPLY International said, "We thank Les for his dedicated service to DENTSPLY, both as a Board member and senior executive. His insights and leadership helped strengthen and grow our business over the 50 years that he has been affiliated with the Company."

Jones began his career with Claudius Ash in 1962, which was subsequently acquired by DENTSPLY.  He served as a senior executive of the Company until his retirement in 1992. In 1983, Jones was appointed as a Director of DENTSPLY International Inc., for which he has served continually until his retirement from the Board this month.
